Composite Resin Veneers

Like all veneers, composite resin veneers are used to improve the overall appearance of teeth by changing their shape and color. Composite veneers are used to treat multiple cosmetic dental issues including things like stained teeth, crooked teeth, chipped or cracked teeth or to fill in gaps between existing teeth.

While other types of veneers can require multiple visits to the dentist and usually involve some drilling or reshaping of existing teeth, composites usually require little to no tooth reduction during the treatment process. The composite material is usually applied to the outer surface of the tooth and molded into shape by the dentist, making it a fairly quick but effective treatment.

While composite veneers don’t tend to last as long as porcelain veneers and don’t have quite the same transformative impact, they can be a great way of transforming a smile for far less of an investment. It’s the best way of fixing minor cosmetic damage to teeth and can be used to fix a wide range of dental issues.

Your Dream Smile is Within Reach with Invisalign

This is a revolution in orthodontics, at Rayview Dental Group, Invisalign clear aligners provide an effective way to straighten your teeth while remaining virtually invisible. Wearing the comfortable, customized aligners will gradually shift your teeth into their correct position. Correcting teeth alignment is imperative, not just cosmetically, but for overall health. Invisalign offers the best of both worlds: comfortable, efficient straightening with an essentially invisible appearance.

The Treatment Process

  • Initially, we will have a consultation at our office to discuss if Invisalign is right for you, and address any questions or concerns you have about the treatment, insurance or costs.
  • Once you’re ready to proceed, x-rays and impressions are administered to create an individual treatment plan – including the position of your teeth and how they will align with treatment.
  • Using your treatment plan, clear aligners are created, and customized to your teeth. Simply wear them every day, taking them out to eat, brush and floss.
  • You advance in the treatment by switching your aligners every two weeks for a fresh set. You will also meet with our dentist every six weeks or so to examine your progress.
  • Full treatment usually lasts about one year for adults. For best results, wear your aligners 20-22 hours a day. Once the treatment is complete, you will have a confident new smile!

Advantages

  • Clear aligners are virtually invisible as opposed to metal brackets and wires
  • Aligners are customized to fit your teeth, eliminating discomfort and irritation
  • Aligners are conveniently removable for brushing or cleaning
  • No food restrictions
  • Helps in avoiding periodontal disease, which can stem from misaligned teeth
  • Can alleviate issues such as bite problems, mouth sores and speaking/chewing difficulties

How much does it cost?

One of the first concerns with those considering Invisalign is, "How much will it cost?" But it is more affordable than you think. In fact, you can enjoy the health and aesthetic benefits of Invisalign at a comparable price to traditional wire braces.

On average, the total cost is between $4,500 and $8,000. The total price depends on the individual level of treatment necessary. However, this price is the same for conventional braces. When choosing between inconvenient metal braces and the comfortable, removable aligners, the choice is clear.

Your Raytown dentist also provides payment options for treatment. We have several financing options that will best fit your needs. In addition, your dental insurance may cover orthodontics, so your costs could be reduced or completely taken care of. If your insurance doesn't cover the cost of orthodontics, you can still take advantage of our convenient payment options.

Invisalign Teen

Teens have a lot on their plates between school, extracurricular activities and socializing with friends. Finding out they need braces can add one more stressor to an already lengthy list! Modern orthodontics have come a long way in recent years, and braces are now less obvious and more comfortable.

Invisalign Teen is a clear aligner system providing a nearly invisible way of straightening teeth using clear, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teen’s teeth. These aligners replace the wires, brackets, and bands that traditional braces use. Invisalign Teen can successfully treat most mild to moderate cases of underbite, overbite, overcrowding, and gaps between the teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth, changing their color, shape, size or length.

What Type of Problems Do Porcelain Veneers Correct?

  • Teeth that are discolored -- either because of root canal treatment, stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or the presence of large resin fillings that have discolored the tooth
  • Teeth that are worn down
  • Teeth that are chipped or broken
  • Teeth that are misaligned, uneven or irregularly shaped
  • Teeth with gaps between them

Porcelain veneers are stronger and more durable than composite resin veneers and last 10 to 15 years, while composite resin veneers last between five and seven years. Porcelain veneers also resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth. As you might assume, porcelain veneers cost significantly more than composite veneers.
